Parapet Renovation

Board of Trustees has decided to repair the parapet near the top of the building. The low wall along the edge of the roof. Last spring and over the summer, we noticed leaking water damage and have identified the problem to be deterioration of the mortar between bricks in that particular area. Water was coming into the attic and in several ceiling areas.

The repair work will begin on Monday October 5. I have asked our contractors on how long it will take and will post that information as soon as I can. The project will cost $40,000. Funds to pay for this work will be from the original trust fund that Margaret Thompson established many years ago and responsibly managed by the Trustees. No money will be taken from the recent fundraising and donations towards the Renovation / Elevator Project fund.
